Northern Cardinal~ Cardinalis cardinalis
A resident of eastern North America, Cardinals mate for life and return to the same breeding area. Their diet includes fruit, seeds, and insects. In Winter, Northern Cardinals can be found brightening up yards with bird feeders. This sketch was inspired by a photo taken here at Timber Tiger Treasures as he perched on our backyard fence, enjoying a drink of rainwater collected on some Morning Glory leaves.
