Zoo Atlanta Trip

The Blythe Birdwatchers trio visited Zoo Atlanta on July 27th.  Check out the photo album featuring some of the highlights of the amazing birds we got to see!  You will definitely see some of these images in my upcoming collections.  It's always exciting to see and experience new species from different parts of the world.

A few I've featured are listed by the IUCN as "Critically Endangered."  The Bali Myna and Hooded Vulture are two of these species sadly declining at a rapid rate, mainly due to the negative impacts of humans on their habitats.  Thankfully, zoos are able to take in some of these animals and educate the public about these important issues and how we can all help save these important species.  I encourage everyone to visit their local zoo not only to see the fascinating creatures, but to learn about how they can help save critical species from extinction!
