Fall Items and Birding the Fall Migration

New items will be added to Timber Tiger Treasures in the next couple of days. This Fall collection will be the last that I really feature jewelry. Timber Tiger Treasures will broaden it's range of products and include more everyday use items and gifts that will appeal to a larger consumer base.

Everything under the "Sale" section will stay permanently marked down until at least the end of the year, if not longer. While fun to wear for birders, the jewelry appeals to too small of a range of customers to actually be profitable. I have some ideas regarding custom-made products for the upcoming holiday season, but I'll share that in another blog.

We actually got out this past week and birded for a couple days. Mill Creek Nature Center by the Mall of Georgia had a lot of activity. We saw many of the usual locals (Blue Jays, GBH,), and also a couple migrating juvenile Common Yellow throats. I never realized how close their song is to that of the Kirtland's Warbler (which we will look for in GA again next spring!).

Chimney Swifts migrated over our house yesterday morning, Pine Warbler returned, and Brown Headed Cowbirds as well. Our Cowbirds get really tame around us. There was a male last spring that would imitate my whistle when I went outside. He and nemesis European Starling are featured on the left magnet for this new Fall collection:

I took this original photograph JUST as these two birds lifted their heads and stared at one another. America's most troublesome birds! I look forward to the next blog! Thanks for reading!
